NATE and the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Jr. Scholarship Foundation (REES) are partnering to set HVACR students on a clear path to career success. The partnership will allow all Rees Scholarship recipients to receive a NATE Ready-to-Work test and downloadable study guide, free of charge. The test and guide are normally $50.
Earning a Ready-to-Work Certificate assures HVACR employers that the technician has fundamental knowledge and skills in the areas of component identification, tools, measurements, electrical safety, general safety and basic heat transfer. The Ready-to-Work Certificate test is available online and does not require a proctor, so it can be taken from any computer, anywhere, including at home.
NATE is proud to offer testing for the HVACR competition at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, scheduled for June 25-29 in Louisville, KY. This year, the students who compete in the HVACR category will receive a free HVAC Support Technician Certificate test. The exam covers topics linked to the NATE professional level certifications, but at a more fundamental level, and provides career-focused technicians the chance to demonstrate the increased knowledge and skills needed to pursue NATE professional certification.
