NATE Certifications Recognized by DOE
The DOE Home Energy Score Program has recognized select NATE certifications, among others, to qualify as a minimum credential for those interested in becoming Home Energy Score Assessors.
The accepted credentials from NATE are certifications in the following specialties:
In addition, DOE announced the release of the Home Energy Score Simulation Training, a new online simulation tool that provides free, targeted training and testing to individuals interested in providing the Home Energy Score — a standard energy efficiency assessment and score generated only by qualifying professionals.
Thermostat Recycling Corporation, founded in 1998, is a non-profit stewardship organization that assumes all costs to transport and properly dispose of mercury switch thermostats. TRC maintains a network of more than 3,600 collection sites nationwide and has recovered more than 1.8 million thermostats since its inception. It’s easy and free for HVAC contractors to recycle — learn more here.
The NATE online store is now open for business with new products including training guides from the Preparing for the NATE Exam series.
These guides can help technicians prepare for the Core exam (available in both English and Spanish), and the specialty exams for Air Distribution, Gas Heating and Oil Heating, Hydronics and Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps (available in both English and Spanish). New NATE BadgeCert ECertification
Beginning this year, NATE has partnered with BadgeCert to offer digital e-certification badges for those technicians certifying and recertifying in 2014 and 2015. With a unique personalized URL for each technician’s certification, technicians and contractors can now print certificates and a wallet card FOR FREE anytime. Replacement certificate and wallet cards are still available for sale via the NATE Online store.
Now you can proudly share NATE certifications electronically with others via email and social media, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter and even on your company website! You can also share the unique URL link with customers, manufacturers, utilities, and others, whenever you need to prove current NATE certification.
